Course Description

This online after-school club is designed for young people aged 11–16, with a focus on beginners interested in music production, composition, and sound design. Whether just starting out or keen to explore their creativity, learners will gain hands-on experience in making music in a supportive, interactive environment. Whether they want to be a beatmaker, producer, singer, rapper, DJ, songwriter, or instrumentalist, this club is about unlocking potential through music and technology. What is music technology? Music technology covers the digital tools and skills used to create, record, and produce music. It’s used across the music industry and in film, games, advertising, and media. From composition and sound design to mixing and audio editing, music tech helps bring ideas to life—and it’s accessible to anyone with a computer and curiosity. This program is led by Andrew Ferguson, music producer, DJ, educator, and founder of Education & Bass, with over 30 years in the music industry and more than 15 years of teaching in primary and secondary schools, colleges, adult learning, and alternative provision. His work supports learners of all needs across a range of settings, blending education with real-world creative industry experience.
